Trainees of the Academy were all excited today, 18th August, 2020, as the senior management of the Academy led by the CEO, Mr Endi Ezengwa, visits the Academy.
Addressing the trainees, the Chief Executive Officer commend them for their good attitude towards the training programme, urging them to acquire the skills, so they can start up their own workshops after the period of six months training.
The director of Industrial relation of the Academy, Mr Alfred Nwosu, while addressing the trainees, told them that their coming here is to acquire skills which will enable them better their lives, as well as, improve their communities in particular and the nation in general. In addition, he urged the trainees to make very best use of the opportunity given to them. “Every knowledge is useful”, said Mr Nwosu.
Trainees were given opportunity to air their views on the quality of training being given to them in their various departments so far. In that regard, volunteers from each of the five departments stated clearly that the quality of lecturers in their various departments remains incomparable. They further rated quality of the training as “PERFECT”.
One of the trainees, Miss Ekwulugwo Gloria Oluchukwu, who is the only female Engineer in the department of Auto Fabrication and Welding, refutes the notion that, “Engineering is meant for the male only, stating that, she can do better than most male Engineers in her field. She also encouraged females to show interest in the field of engineering.
Sequel to Gloria’s boldness and efforts to gain skills in welding field, the interest of the CEO was captured and this made him to consider Miss Gloria for employment after the six months training program. In addition, the CEO directed the training manager of the Academy Mr Ifeanyi Joseph Okeke to get two best graduating trainees from each department for immediate employment after the training and assured those who want to start up of his entrepreneurship mentoring, as well as access to loan from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Other highlights of their visit was ‘cutting of birthday cake’ in advance to the CEO’s birthday anniversary celebration and taking of group photographs.
